چکیده

Aim . To study the levels of pro-inflammatory biomarkers in patients with obstructive and non-obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD), to identify possible differences for diagnosing degree obstruction. Material methods The observational included two groups patients: (main group, stenosis <50%; n=30) (comparison hemodynamically significant according results angiography; CAD. interleukin-1β (IL-1β) interleukin 6 (IL-6) were measured plasma using enzyme immunoassay. Results IL-6 significantly higher CAD (p=0.006) than There no level IL-1β both (p=0.482). When constructing ROC curve, threshold value was 26.060 pg/ml. At less this value, diagnosed insignificant stenoses arteries. Conclusion confirm that different types lesions, there are activity inflammation process arterial wall. lesion did not differ between groups. Thus, it can be assumed obstruction arteries develops as a result highly active vascular Given presence proven biological basis available data on effectiveness monoclonal antibodies IL-1β, one cannot exclude their benefit cohort stenoses.

Obstructive sleep apnea and the severity of coronary artery disease

Background: It has been implicated that obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease including stroke, myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease (CAD) and hypertension. The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between OSA and severity of atherosclerosis assessed by angiography. Methods: This study included 337 patients ...

Aspergillus colonization in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Background and Purpose: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has been recognized as a risk factor for invasive aspergillosis. Airway colonization by Aspergillus species is a common feature of chronic pulmonary diseases. Nowadays, the incidence of COPD has increased in critically ill patients. The aim of the present study was to isolate and identify Aspergillus colonies in the respirator...

Patients with non-obstructive coronary artery disease admitted with acute myocardial infarction carry a better outcome compared to those with obstructive coronary artery disease

Background The characterization of patients who have acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and insignificant coronary stenosis is unclear. Aim The present study aimed to investigate the clinical profile, in-hospital and 3-month outcome of AMI patients with insignificant coronary stenosis in comparison with those with significant disease. Methods This prospective observational study included 200...

Obstructive sleep apnea and coronary artery disease.

In the recent years intensive research has revealed numerous negative consequences of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) for the cardiovascular system. The pathophysiological interaction between OSA and coronary artery disease is complex and comprises neural, humoral, mechanical and haemodynamic components. One of the most important effects of OSA is an increase of sympathetic nerve traffic, which p...

Coronary artery calcification: does it predict obstructive coronary artery disease?

Calcification of the coronary arteries plays a key role in the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis. Coronary calcification is an active process culminating in extracellular matrix deposition of calcium by osteoblast-like cells that has some resemblance to bone formation [1]. Subintimal coronary calcification is almost exclusively associated with the presence of coronary atherosclerosis and is co...
